A demanding-work model

OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra on September 3, 2026. Its model documentation positions it for complex reasoning, coding, computer use, research, and document creation, with text-and-image inputs.

The model supports a defined set of reasoning levels. Integrations should check those supported values rather than carry every setting forward from an earlier model.

Hard tasks need stronger evidence

When a model is used for a difficult project, a fluent explanation is a weak success measure. The team needs an artifact, a reproducible result, or a decision supported by inspectable evidence. More capable systems can produce more extensive work, which makes focused review even more important.

A useful test should include realistic constraints and an explicit stopping condition, rather than an open-ended invitation to keep improving the result.

Compare on the costly failures

Include tasks that currently require substantial human correction, but retain ordinary cases to expose regressions. Track full task cost, elapsed time, and unresolved defects. For visual inputs, verify the details that affect the conclusion. Astra is a general professional-work model; its presence in this industry archive does not change XMH.NET's image-only product scope.
