A new Opus release

Anthropic introduced Claude Opus 4.5 on November 24, 2025, focusing on coding, agents, computer use, and professional artifacts such as documents and spreadsheets.

For enterprise teams, the relevant question was whether a more capable model could reduce the number of failed attempts and review cycles on difficult work.

A token rate is only one component

A lower-priced model can become expensive if it repeatedly produces incomplete work. A higher-priced model can also be wasteful when the task is simple. The comparison needs to include all requests made before a result is accepted, plus the time spent correcting it.

This is particularly important for tasks that produce files. A response that sounds finished may still contain broken formulas, incorrect citations, or a layout that fails when rendered.

Compare cost per accepted result. Initial request Model usage and processing. Exceptions Retries, escalation and failed attempts. Human review Correction and approval effort. Accepted result Compare the full cost of completed work.

Review the deliverable directly

Define a small set of professional tasks with concrete acceptance conditions. Inspect the resulting code, document, or spreadsheet in the environment where it will be used. Count interventions and unresolved defects, not only successful tool calls. That evidence lets a decision maker judge whether the additional capability is worth paying for on a particular class of work.
