A new Gemini generation
Google introduced Gemini 3 on November 18, 2025, emphasizing reasoning and multimodal understanding across its products and developer platforms. The release brought a new model generation into both consumer and application-building contexts.
Those contexts should still be evaluated separately. A feature shown in a consumer product does not establish the exact capabilities or limits of a developer endpoint.
Keep the output contract visible
A model may understand a chart, interpret a screenshot, or help write code. None of those abilities alone establishes that it can produce the image file a creative pipeline needs. Request format, output modality, and model identifier remain basic integration requirements.
A procurement discussion is clearer when it names the intended task and output rather than relying on the provider's family name.
Upgrade with representative evidence
Test the new model on the real briefs, documents, and visual inputs used by the team. Include examples where the previous version already performed well, so regressions are not hidden by a few impressive improvements. Record changes in latency, usage, and review effort. A useful model upgrade improves a complete workflow while keeping its behavior understandable to the people responsible for it.
