Agents inside the IDE

Anthropic announced on February 3, 2026 that Xcode 26.3 integrated the Claude Agent SDK. The integration supported longer-running coding work and visual verification through Xcode Previews, among other capabilities.

This was an important workflow change: a coding agent could inspect the interface it was building in the same environment used by the developer.

A rendered result reveals different errors

Source code can look correct while a view clips text, misaligns controls, or fails on a smaller device. Visual feedback adds evidence that static inspection alone cannot provide. It is especially useful when the acceptance condition includes how an interface behaves and appears.

The same principle applies to web consoles and marketing sites: the review should include the actual layout at the sizes customers use.

Keep the review criteria concrete

Specify supported screens, expected interactions, and which content must remain visible. Ask the agent to verify those conditions after making a change, then inspect the result independently. A preview that looks right is still only part of validation; build behavior, accessibility, and relevant interactions also matter. The benefit comes from closing the implementation-feedback loop while preserving a clear engineering review.
